Robbie has been a great partner on many projects with Untapped Accessibility including writing blogs, facilitating accessibility dialogues and presenting to decision makers. She always brings an honest and values-forward approach to her work, which we love. She has extensive experience but also isn’t shy about trying new things.

Robbie's personal lived  experience, professional work experience, and knowledge provided us a great introduction to what neurodiversity means, and how we can work together to create an inclusive and accessible work environment.  It was great for all our staff to come together to learn with her and we particularly enjoyed the breakout rooms and having deeper, meaningful discussions with my team. Thank you Robbie!

FAQs

  • When I start working with a new organization, I first make sure our values align. Then, we'll have a discovery session or correspondence to discuss where they are at in their accessibility journey. From there, we'll determine the project scope based on their specific needs - do they need one workshop or several? Do they have a dedicated DEI team, or are they just getting started? For communication and writing clients, I need to understand whether they have an in-house team or if they're looking for packaged materials. Terms of reference are also vital - it's important to know if they understand the difference between neurodiversity and neurodivergence.

  • Very! I work with each organization based on their needs. I use tested frameworks that have been successful in the past, and tailor them to suit the specific challenges and goals of the organization.

  • I typically work with small to mid-sized non-profits and social enterprises, and yes, I am open to travel.

  • While my involvement is generally project-based for workshops, I can bring in collaborators for larger-scale projects or refer the organization to the knowledgeable team at Untapped Accessibility.

  • You’ll benefit from my decades of experience as a storyteller and communications professional, deep knowledge of neuro-inclusion principles, and my lived experience and passion for creating organizations and communities where everyone can thrive.

  • Organizations can anticipate a deeper understanding of how to foster a neuroinclusive workplace, and receive actionable strategies to update flawed or ineffective systems. In addition, they can expect a refreshed sense of connection between peers and a renewed sense of optimism.
